Mrs. Gerald Mackey Dies After Heart Attack.

Mrs. Gerald Mackey, Harbor Beach, Mich., native of Traverse County, died unexpectedly of a heart attack March 8.

The funeral service was held March 12, 1966 at St. John Lutheran Church, Wheaton with Rev. K. J. Putt officiating.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ole Lupkes, Elmer Lupkes, Oscar Lupkes, George Lupkes, Olen Lupkes and Albert Lupkes.

Bernice Lupkes Mackey was born Dec 19, 1920 at Wheaton, daughter of the late Aielt Lupkes and Mrs. Elsie Lupkes.  She grew up and attended school here and later went to Minneapolis.

She was united in marriage with Gerald Mackey Dec. 9, 1959.  He survives together with her mother, brother Carl of Argyle, Minn. and his children Patricia Lupkes Spoonamore, Stanley and Neil Lupkes.

Out of town people attending the funeral came from Harbor Beach, Mich., Argyle, Norcross, Minneapolis and Rushmore, Minn. and Cedar Falls, and Waterloo, Iowa.
