To whom it may concern, I noticed the introduction of a bill (S. 1433) to collect an internet tax of 5%. While I recognize the economic necessity of collecting a tax on merchandise and services purchased over the Internet, I believe that the taxes collected would be better used by the Internet infrastructure itself for the purpose of expanding the capacity of the existing lines, and the adding of new backbones to the 66% of the United States and the 80% or more of the rest of the world that still has yet to receive their fair share of the Information Age.
